On behalf of the Organizing Committee, China Ordnance Society (COS) is very pleased to invite you to the 1st International Conference on Defence Technology (1st ICDT) to be held from 17th to 21th, 2018, in Beijing, China. The conference is a forum for the exchange of the knowledge and expertise in the field of defence technology and will emerge as a gathering of academicians, researchers, professionals and industry leaders working in wide spectrum of defence technology.
The conference includes six sessions:
Session 1: Electromagnetic launch
Electromagnetic Launchers, Pulsed Power, Electrothermal/Electrothermal-Chemical Launchers, Diagnostic and Computational Techniques, Hypervelocity Projectiles/Integrated Launch Package, Electromagnetic Armor, Hybrid Electric Vehicles, System Analysis/Integration, Related Applications
Session 2: Energetic material
This session is dedicated to the state-of-the-art and future needs in a number of areas extending from the classical applications of energetic materials (propellants, explosives, munitions, pyrotechnics, and gas generators) to the collateral areas of unconventional applications and energetic materials Life-Cycle Management. Prospective new energetic materials and new concepts will be discussed as well as practical problems related to quality control, aging, hazards, impact, disposal, and remediation of the energetic materials, in use today or in the near future, for space exploration or defense. Contributions are sought regarding every kind of energetic materials applications, with particular attention to green chemistry and technology for all issues involving their manufacture and use. In the area of chemical propulsions (including solid, liquid, hybrid, and gel propellants) the focus will be on chlorine elimination and mitigation of pollution in its multiple aspects. Of course, performance, safety, and cost remain the primary objectives for all users.
Session 3: Manufacturing Processes and Management
This session will focus on contemporary issues and challenges in sectors that are engaged in manufacturing of various components and structures covering wide range of applications. Deliberations pertaining to functional manufacturing processes like Casting, Welding, Forming and Machining will be focused. Also special focus on manufacturing of composites, nano- materials and bio materials is also being discussed in this session. This session also covers applications of Computer based manufacturing process, Machine Vision, Robotics, Quality Management, operations research, Process planning, Economics of Manufacturing which have due emphasis in today’s industrial environment.
Session 4: Materials behavior and properties
Materials for aerospace engineering,Armour materials; Projectile materials; Advanced nanostructured materials, Advanced ceramics and composites, Additive manufacturing, Materials characterization and analysis, Materials surface processing and coatings; Materials joining, Simulation and modeling of (thermo)mechanical behavior/properties of materials.
